A big thank-you to all who continue to support our business through the Canada Post strike. We appreciate your patience and understanding!
Canada Post will be resuming operations starting December 17th but will not be accepting new mail until December 19th. (December 23rd to USA).
Delays are expected in transit while Canada Post catches up over the next several months. We suggest upgrading your shipping to our flat-rate tracked shipping on any orders placed before February. Orders without upgraded shipping are not eligible for replacements if lost or damaged while in-transit. Upgraded shipping comes with tracking and insurance for any lost or damaged orders.
Small rural businesses like ours really depend on the essential service Canada Post provides, as many rural communities are not serviced by other couriers. Additionally, no other couriers in Canada currently offer lettermail shipping or ship to rural PO boxes. Lettermail shipping is how we are able to offer such a low-cost flat-fee shipping option. We appreciate and stand in solidarity with Canada Post workers.
USA/UK CUSTOMERS: Please read important information below.
All orders placed before or during the strike will ship on December 19th. All orders placed after December 16th will ship once Canada Post works through their back-log.

MONTHLY SEED SUBSCRIPTION holders, both your November and December seed subs will ship on December 17th. Keep an eye out for extra goodies in your December subscription as a thank-you for your patience and understanding during the strike!
We are closed for all statutory holidays, and are closed December 24th - January 2nd. Orders placed during this time will ship on January 3, 2025
Orders shipped within Canada are sent out via Canada Post as flat-rate lettermail shipping with no tracking & no insurance against packages lost or destroyed in transit. If insurance against lost/damaged packages and tracking is wanted, this option can be added on at checkout for an additional fee.
Regular lettermail shipping within Canada usually takes on average one week within Western Canada, and around two weeks to Eastern Canada (these times are estimates, see here for current shipping delays) *PLEASE ALLOW EXTRA TIME FOR ORDERS TO ARRIVE AS THE CANADA POST STRIKE MAY EFFECT TRANSIT TIMES.
As of 2023, we no longer ship out beans, peas, or other large seeds outside of Canada. If a Canada-only item(s) is purchased, we will refund the item(s) at time of shipping fulfillment. At this time we are still shipping tomato (and other small seeds) outside of Canada*
All orders outside of Canada are sent via flat-rate air-mail lettermail. This does not protect against lost or damaged packages. Any packages sent without upgraded shipping will not be replaced if lost or damaged in transit. For insurance and tracking, you have the option to upgrade shipping at checkout.
Buyers are responsible for knowing which seeds are allowed into their jurisdictions. If seeds are confiscated or destroyed at the customs, they will not be replaced or refunded.

If we have any issues shipping to an address, all future orders must be shipped with the tracking option added on until we know that the address is deliverable.
Larger Canadian orders containing beans or peas may ship out in two packages to save you on shipping costs.
We try to use sustainable packaging when we can. Our brown-paper padded mailers are compostable and recyclable. We try to use paper-based tape and plant-based glue when possible. We are always evolving our packaging and trying new ways to save you money on shipping while creating less waste & plastic in the landfill.
We offer a true-to-type guarantee as we grow varieties according to isolation recommendations, and/or use pollination-preventing barriers. (Crossbreeding or open-pollination projects do not carry a true-to-type guarantee. Listings will state if they are not covered under the true-to-type guarantee. If your seeds do not grow true-to-type, please reach out to us at moonglowgardens@shaw.ca
As germination success is largely user-based with many complex factors, at this time we do not offer a germination guarantee. That being said, we conduct germination tests on all of our seeds after harvesting, and then periodically conduct tests on samples afterwards.
If you are having trouble germinating our seeds, we would love to help troubleshoot! Please send us an email at moonglowgardens@shaw.ca describing the following: date of sowing, depth of sowing, type of soil or medium used, temperature during the daytime & night, light source or grow light type, watering schedule, were any fertilizers used?
We also have a tomato grow guide here that includes some tips on germinating tomato seeds.
As seeds are living items, we do not offer refunds or replacements on opened items unless plants do not grow true-to-type. (Please see our true-to-type guarantee above.) Please e-mail us at moonglowgardens@shaw.ca for inquiries about refunds and returns.
